The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), also known as the Agriculture Department.
The USDA is responsible for the safety of meat, poultry and egg products. The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), a public health agency in the U.S. Department of Agriculture, ensures that the nation’s commercial supply of meat, poultry, and egg products is safe, wholesome, and correctly labeled and packaged as required by the Federal Meat Inspection Act, The Poultry Products Inspection Act, and the Egg Products Inspection Act. FSIS inspects all meat, poultry and egg products sold in interstate and foreign commerce, including imports.
FSIS also inspects products during processing, handling, and packaging to ensure that they are safe and truthfully labeled.

FSIS Process Validation
HACCP regulations require your plant to validate the adequacy of your food safety system to control hazards reasonably likely to occur. FSIS has published expand on these requirements and published Compliance Guideline and we can provide guidance for plant.

Food Safety Assessments (FSA)
A Food Safety Assessment (FSA), done randomly or in response to a problem, is an audit done by FSIS at federally inspected plants to assure that food safety procedures are effective. According to FSIS, a central goal of the FSA process is to “reduce recalls and enforcement actions by providing valuable information to plants about their food safety systems.”
JAD will provide guidance to plant management staff and executive members to be prepared for their FSA. We will do a in depth review your establishment process control programs, SSOP, HACCP, GMP, prerequisite programs, all supporting documents. This includes, pathogen control programs and Sanitation programs.
